Hollywood doesnt actually discriminate against conservatives. Conservative's are bad at art. So the Daily Wire is trying to start its own streaming service for conservatives—I don’t know why, I mean I do know why it’s because half of them are failed screenwriters, but I don’t know why they think Hollywood won’t make conservative content. Hollywood, first and foremost, is a business. Hollywood is a business above all else. Its goal is to make profit. Studios don’t will do, say, create whatever will generate profit. Hollywood exec aren’t ideologically against conservatives, (they aren’t ideologically for or against anything) as is evidenced by Taylor Sheridans success. Conservatives tend to make bad art. If half the country is conservative, and wants conservative art, that’s a huge market. And there is clear demand for it, as is evidenced by Yellowstone and its infinite spinoffs. The reason there are so few conservative directors isn’t because Hollywood is ideologically woke, far for it, it’s because conservatives, like Ben Shapiro, make bad/unprofitable art. Taylor Sheriden is pretty openly right leaning and his perspective is evident in his content. Interestingly enough, no one ever calls Yellowstone, landamn, sicario, hell or high water, 1883, or 1923 propoganda/indoctrination despite its clear conservative ethos. In 1923, the doctors tell Alexandra they can either save her or her baby and she replies “what kind of mother would I be if I didn’t pick my child.” In Landman, Billy Bob gives a wind turbines aren’t “clean” energy speech—a conservative talking point, in addition to a our whole lives depend on oil speech: 120 year petroleum based infrastructure/oil is in everything. More importantly, the themes of the show are conservative. Individual character dialogue or action doesn’t necessarily reflect the message or worldview of the show. A show can have a character say or do something the broader theme of the show is against, but the show will tell u that. Yellowstone (specifically 1923, reframes the nepotism of family farming (even the phrase family farms is designed to give a pastoral, poor feel to the accumulation of generational wealth: farm to taber) as a fierce fight for independence/protecting their free way of life from those city dwellers and the government who don’t understand. In 1923, it seems like they’re the underdog because the main villian has more money/is a corporation. Yet, liberals don’t complain that his show is conservative propaganda, even when by their own logic, it is political propoganda. Why? Because they agree with it. No show is Apolitical, what people mean by apolitical 1. If a show is good people are less likely to notice or complain that it has a political perspective 2. People usually notice when the agenda is clumsily forced in, not a part of genuine storytelling, agenda superseeds storytelling. Lindsay Ellis I think has a video on this. 3. People only call something indoctrinated when it doesn’t reinforce the status quo or what is normative 4. People are more likely to notice a perspective when they don’t agree with it. Paramount is supposedly spending 500 million annually on Sheriden. He basically jumpstarted peacock/paramount plus, with some of the most watched and profitable shows, with endless spinoffs. So there is clearly is a market for it, so why aren’t there more. Why did Hollywood reject Ben Shapiro’s script, well we have an answer to that. And to see if you have to look no further than, the daily wire streaming content. Why are so many conservatives bad writers; There aren’t that many conservatives writers/artists for the same reason there aren’t that many liberal cops/soliders. You can’t spend a summer calling all cops bastards and then be confused why leftists don’t join the police force/why cops tend to lean right. By the same logic you can’t call art gay and make fun of all the gay theater kids and then be confused why they all went to Hollywood and made movies they like/that aren’t for you/that aren’t tailored to your taste. They made the movies they like, because they’re the ones writing them, or as much as the studio will let them. Babylon bee tangent: Babylon bee has a sketch where this woman is driving in the HOV lane and they are stopped by a cop who asks them why they’re in the HOV lane. They respond: well I’m non binary/I use they/them pronouns, so really it should count as two people. This isn’t funny, not because it’s offensive, but because it’s bad satire. There are so many cringe ways non binary people act, this isn’t one of them. No non binary person thinks they are two people. And this joke is only funny if you’re too stupid to understand how singular they works in the English language. (Language also evolves based on how it’s used as is primarily goal is to be a functional form of communication). I used to singular they multiple times above and no one was confused because it is a normal part of the English language. ## Marvel vs Sinners ## Petra Collins, Euphoria, The Idol Sam levinson stole two women’s art for his shows. Petra Collins glittery, dreamlike, feminine gaze aesthetic was not just the inspiration for Euphoria. Sam Levinson wanted to make a show based on her aesthetic. She worked on it for months and then was kicked off it because it was too much female gaze. Ironically the entire audience for euphoria and all teen shows are women and the gays, so it’s largely female audience was subjected to sexual exploitation for the male gaze/reinforcing the male gaze because HBO thought the feminine gaze wouldn’t sell to it’s mostly female audience? The same thing happens on the idol. The female writer whose idea it was worked on it for 8 months before Sam Levinson turned it ink the monstrosity that it became. ## Emily My ex best friend, Emily loved it. Thinking how are you not insulted by this shallow pandering. But she looked at it proudly said, that’s a nod to feminism, and she dragged me to the opening of Endgame, so clearly Marvel knows it’s audience. She also liked the last season of game of thrones. I know what you’re thinking. I shouldve rnded the friendship right then and there, but at the time I chose to ignore her red flags. So that’s not God foreshadowing her moral shortcomings, I don’t know what is
