[[Anti-immigration arguments centered on prime-age men without degrees are deceptive and flatly incorrect]] Upon considering the above immigration arguments, I thought about the issue of Democrat messaging on Immigration, and more generally as a hole. Right now we seem to be playing defense, using weak responses to Republican offense like, "I will follow the law" (Kamala on Fox), and summarily shouting, "_nuh uh_" at the claim of being the party that is allowing a massive spike in violent illegal immigrants that are sinking wages and displacing American workers. **The longer I think about this strategy, the more my brain strokes out over how depressingly bad it is. Democrats need to stop responding in the negative and defending characterizations of situations and policies that _**don't even fucking exist**_. **Responding in the positive would contain information like:** * Despite immigrants being 20% of the labor force of prime-age men without a bachelors, the LFPR of that group has broken records the last two years in a row **And then pose an offensive question:** * If immigrants were stealing jobs, it would be most noticeable in this group. Why is this not the case? If your answer is, "oh, well the numbers would be worse," then let me direct you to the "No true Scotsman" logical fallacy Wikipedia page for some light reading **Or some interesting facts like:** * The U.S. Census Bureau says that if we had lower-than-expected immigration levels, population decline would kick in in only 20 years. If it were to suddenly drop to zero, the population would begin dropping **next year** * There is likely widespread illegal underpaying of H-1B visa workers by _U.S. COMPANIES_, and due to the Department of Labor's total lack of policing this, it is effectively subsidizing off-shoring of American jobs (especially in IT) that are often pathways to the middle class, especially for minorities ([Economic Policy Institute](https://www.epi.org/publication/new-evidence-widespread-wage-theft-in-the-h-1b-program/)) (retiring for the night @ 01:10 October 24)
